We love an Autumn wedding, and this one did not disappoint! The weather and venue were perfect for a successful and beautiful wedding day. Every single detail of this wedding was carefully and precisely planned, from the delicate floral wreath for the matron of honor, to the floral robes for a quick champagne toast before the festivities began. We were able to explore the beautiful grounds with McKayla and her bridesmaids and Jon and his groomsmen before they saw each other when she first walked down the aisle, and one of McKayla’s bridesmaids led them in a sweet prayer before the ceremony. The variety of locations at Frugthaven Farms was perfect for us to work cohesively without running into each other before the ceremony.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the largest, open-air barn. With the cool, fall air blowing through, it was perfect for the ceremony. Jon was antsy with anticipation waiting for McKayla to walk down the aisle, and he beamed when she did. We loved the part of the ceremony where both of their mothers participated in a “sand ceremony”. The cheer of their friends and family as they shared their first kiss as a married couple rang through the rafters of the barn, and everyone was thrilled to see these two finally become husband and wife.
Wedding Day Portraits
Following the ceremony, friends and family of the happy couple visited with each other and participated in happy hour, while we were able to whisk off the bridal party and the newlyweds away for some portraits. We love using the bridal party to hype up the couple and let them celebrate their wedding with their closest. After we get the bridal party, we love getting to work with just the couple. The newlywed photos are one of my absolute favorite parts of the wedding day. We can allow them to have fun, and allow them more small, intimate moments. This lets the couple take some time for themselves during the busy wedding day.
The Reception
One of our favorite parts of the reception was the table game. It was important to Jon and McKayla to have a photo with all of their guests who attending the wedding. With the help of their awesome DJ, we had each table put together a pose that the couple could quickly insert themselves into. The goal was to get every table’s photograph done within the time frame of one song. It was so fun seeing the poses everyone came up with for the tables portraits, and the chaos and excitement as the newlyweds ran from table to table. Between the two of us, we were able to capture each table in the time limit they created and had a lot of fun doing it. After the game, we got to spend the evening capturing the couple celebrating their wedding with their friends and family. From cake to dinner, to dancing the night away, their wedding was truly filled with celebration and love.
The Venue
Frugthaven Farms is a stunning venue. We were able to explore the fields, silos, orchards, and barns for portraits. Following the ceremony, we took the bridal party with us to the silos where we had fun hyping them up and celebrating the newlyweds. We love using the bride and groom’s best pals to get them excited and loosened up. This gets them comfortable and ready for their newlywed portraits. We enjoy capturing true, fun interactions and Jon and McKayla did not disappoint!
